About the Performer

Aswathy Krishna, a leading Mohiniyattam dancer, trained under Guru Dr. Neena Prasad in Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam and Jaikishore Mosalikanti in Kuchipudi. Her career began in 2006-2007 with an A grade in Mohiniyattam at the 47th Kerala School Kalolsavam. She has since performed widely, both in India (Nishagandhi Festival, Konark Festival) and internationally. As a B-grade Doordarshan artist in Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam, Aswathy holds a Master’s in Mohiniyattam and an M.Phil. in Performing Arts from Kerala Kalamandalam. She was awarded the Senior Scholarship in 2013 and the Diamond Jubilee Fellowship in 2018. She currently teaches at the Sougandhika Centre for Mohiniyattam under Dr. Neena Prasad.
