About the Performer

Guru Shingar Mani Sri. Debasish Pattnaik is a prominent Odissi exponent and international Odissi dancer, who has completed Nrutyabhaskar (MA in dance) and is a Gold Medalist. Odissi dance is his passion which he has been pursuing for the last 29 yrs. Under the late Guru Sri. Kashinath Roul and for the last 18 yrs he has been learning under the expert guidance of Guru Sri. Durga Charan Ranbir. He is a research scholar on Odissi dance under Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh and arecipient of the senior scholarship from Dept. Of culture, govt. Of India. He is an 'A' Grade artist of Doordarshan kendra Delhi; ICCR empanelled artist by Ministry of Culture and has done junior fellowship under Govt. of India. He has been awarded Shingar Mani title by honourable former president of India Smt. Pratibha Patil, Jaydev puraskar by Govt. of Odisha, Nritya Bharati award, Guru shisya parampara award and had been invited to perform in front of Lord Sri Satya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi.
