About the Performer

Dr. Neena Prasad is a highly talented Mohiniyattam dancer with expertise in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Kathakali. Her primary focus is Mohiniyattam, and she redefines mythical heroines by exploring non-traditional aspects of their stories. Originally from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, she studied various classical dance forms before immersing herself in Mohiniyattam, influenced by Kalyanikutty Amma’s innovations. Dr. Neena Prasad has earned multiple accolades, including a Ph.D. for her research on Lasya and Tandava in South Indian classical dances and prestigious awards such as the Kerala Kalamandalam Award and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2022.
